GRUVN's CRUZ-16S (Standard shape) is a high-quality, mid-weight, control pickleball paddle featuring a premium T700 raw carbon fiber surface and a wide body shape. It is approved by USA Pickleball (USAPA) for tournament play. Raw carbon fiber paddles provide a grainy textured surface that allows for a lot of spin and enhances control. The combination of this paddle’s raw surface and the thick 16mm core results in a strong, stable paddle with consistent and accurate shots and more control.

Our brand new CRUZ Control Series is an upgrade on our RAW Control Series. GRUVN was just the 3rd paddle company to make carbon fiber paddles back in early 2022 with our RAW Control Series, and now we are improving on them with our new Gen 1.5 CRUZ Control Series of carbon fiber paddles. The new features include:
• Unibody construction provides a more durable paddle and allows us to make thinner handles compared to the RAW paddles. All CRUZ paddles have the same grip thickness of ~4.125" (same as our MUVN and LAZR thermoformed paddles).
• Foam injected walls around the edges and down through the handle increases the sweet spot and adds control. The CRUZ paddles are not thermoformed like our LAZR and MUVN paddles.

The wide body shape with 8.1" width provides a large sweet spot  and room for error, and delivers stability and balance for all aspects of the game, including plays at the net and returning hard shots. Like all GRUVN's wide body paddles, it is a very fast paddle that provides players with an aerodynamic feel and great hand speed. Its 5.4” handle length is long enough for great two-handed swings and extended reaches across the court. 

The CRUZ-16S has a 16mm thick polypropylene honeycomb core designed to evenly react to the force of impact and provide precision control, while also absorbing vibration and noise. Polypropylene is the most popular core among pickleball players.

The 3D perforated cushion grip is made of double-layer two-color hand grips. The inner layer is made of sweat-absorbing sponge and the outer layer is made of PU material and uses big air hole design. The grip is very comfortable and the anti-slip and sweat-absorbing effect is of the highest quality.

This paddle has a black edge guard and also comes with a zippered neoprene cover with the GRÜVN logo to protect the pickleball paddle when not in play ($15 value!).

What is the difference between the CRUZ-16X, CRUZ-16H, and CRUZ-16S paddles?
The difference is the shape of the paddles. The CRUZ-16X and CRUZ-16H are both elongated (paddle length of 16.5") and have a width of 7.375", but the differences are the handle length and face length. The shorter the handle length, the longer the face. The CRUZ-16H has the longest handle length at 5.875" and is loved by tennis players who love the 'whip' the paddle provides. The CRUZ-16X has a handle length of 5.5" and has more control. The CRUZ-16S is a wide body paddle and has more control than the  other two paddles, along with a lower swing weight, which is great for quickness during net play. 

What is the difference in how the CRUZ, RAW, LAZR, and MUVN paddles play?
The biggest difference is that the LAZR and MUVN paddles have a lot more pop compared to the CRUZ and RAW paddles because they are thermoformed. If you are a player looking for extra power, then the LAZR and MUVN paddles are for you.  It can be difficult for some players to switch to a thermoformed paddle because of the extra power they provide. If you prefer more control, then the CRUZ and RAW paddles would be better suited for you. The LAZR and MUVN paddles play fairly similar to each other, with the LAZR providing more pop and a bit more power and ball dwell time. The LAZR paddles add a different aesthetic to the surface with the red and blue blends for those who don’t prefer the black raw carbon fiber surface. The RAW paddles feel a bit more plush than the CRUZ paddles, and the RAW paddles have thicker handles.

Paddle Cleaner Included
• Each CRUZ paddle will come with a GRUVN paddle cleaner, which is a stick of rubber that is 2.5” x 2” x 1” in size, This is for carbon fiber paddles only (not graphite or composite paddles). Rub it on your paddle surface to keep it clean and also maximize the spin. It isn't pretty, but your paddle will be after using it :)

 ** PADDLE CARE – IMPORTANT **
Your paddle can become damaged from extreme temperatures. Extreme cold temperatures will cause the core and hitting surface to become brittle and crack. Extreme high temperatures will soften the core and hitting surface and can cause delamination. This occurs when the hitting surface separates from the core. Dead spots and other issues will arise from this. Do not leave your paddle out in the sun on a hot day, be sure to cover it from the heat or it can be damaged. Do not leave your paddle in your vehicle during the summer or winter.

WARRANTY
GRUVN's CRUZ series of pickleball paddles are guaranteed to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase. If found to be defective, a repair or replacement will be issued.

What does the warranty not cover?
• Normal wear and tear, or damages caused by abuse or negligence, including grip, edge guard, face and core materials.
• User modification, fading or scratched surfaces, or hitting other objects other than the ball (like the ground or other paddles).
• Use of paddle in temperatures below 40F or 5°C.
• Paddles being played in or stored in very hot or very cold weather.
• Rattling that doesn't affect performance.
• Warranty is non-transferable and only valid to the original purchaser.
• Warranty does not apply to replacement paddles.

• GRUVN may exercise the right to determine whether a paddle is covered by our warranty and whether to replace it.

RETURN POLICY
If there is no manufacturing defect, your paddle can only be returned if you ordered the wrong item from our store. You can receive a replacement item from GRUVN.co if the original item is returned to us unused and in its original packaging. GRUVN must be notified about any wrong order within 48 hours of the customer receiving the item. Any price difference in the item exchange will need to be resolved before the replacement item is sent. Otherwise, if there is no manufacturing defect, the item(s) received will not be refunded or returned.
