Installation Instructions
For Pressure Filters (Under-Counter/Countertop):
- Place the rubber O-ring over the threaded mount and screw the candle into the housing until a seal is made. Do not over-tighten.
- Flush the filter by running water to waste for 10 minutes.
- Allow the filter to stand unused overnight, then flush again for 10 minutes before use.
For Gravity Filters:
- Place the sealing washer over the mount, secure it through the upper housing hole with the wing nut. Do not over-tighten.
- Discard the first full chamber of filtered water.
- Run water until it is clear; your filter is then ready for use.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
Restore Flow Rate: Over time, the ceramic shell will trap particles, which may reduce water flow. To restore performance, simply remove the cartridge and scrub the surface evenly with a clean abrasive kitchen pad under running water.
Safety Tip: When cleaning, ensure the open-ended plastic mount stays clear of the water to avoid any contamination of the purified interior.

Does this filter remove fluoride?
While the UltraCarb is exceptionally effective against bacteria, lead, and chemicals, it is not specifically designed for fluoride removal. If you require fluoride reduction, we recommend our specialized fluoride-reduction cartridges.
