Acrocanthosaurus was one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs that ever lived, measuring up to 11.5 meters in length and weighing up to 6.8 metric tons. Its most distinctive feature was a row of tall spines that ran down its back, which may have been used for display or regulating body temperature. Despite its massive size, Acrocanthosaurus was also surprisingly agile and could likely run at speeds up to 32 km/h.
