One Hundred Birds One Hundred Flowers’ original rug design was inspired by an exquisite pair of Japanese scrolls depicting many birds and animals living together in harmony. An uplifting design, full of symbolism, hope and vitality, the wallpaper resembles a peaceful, restorative garden, with exotic birds, flowers, trees, and foliage bringing the beauty of nature indoors.
A pair of cranes, which represent beauty, harmony, grace, and balance, stretch elegantly up and out of colourful flowers and foliage along the base of the wallpaper. A slim plum blossom tree reaches upwards towards a canopy of green leaves and tree branches along the top, which mirrors the planting below.

In 2004 freelance fashion designer Wendy Morrison accepted a commission to design a rug collection. It was a turning point; the perfect match for her love of colour and pattern, combined with storytelling. It was the start of a design journey that comes from the heart, that puts passion and craftsmanship at the centre of every project, and strives to connect people, places, art, ideas and nature.
Authentic rug-making demands incredible skill, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Wendy Morrison want to protect those skills, to support the artisans who tuft and weave, and bring our designs to life, to explain the history and storytelling behind rug design, and to celebrate and help maintain this centuries-old art.
Since 2012, Wendy Morrison have worked with the same Indian manufacturer and artisans who share their desire to create rugs of outstanding quality.
