Modern vehicles rely on 'fly by wire' throttle technology to measure pedal pressure & position to send signals to the engine's computer and convert it to acceleration. Many of these systems have a noticeable delay. EVC throttle controllers by iDrive (rebranded as Ultimate9) reduce this lag and improve response to make the acceleration feel more responsive.

Featured Modes:

EVC throttle controllers are equipped with a very intuitive display and settings menu for easy use. There are 4 modes that offer different settings for different driving styles and conditions.

1. Normal Mode (--): Normal mode is simply a replication of the factory settings; essentially the EVC is switched off.

2. Economy Mode (E): Economy mode has 9 settings that reduce the response from the pedal. The higher you go, the more dampened your throttle response becomes. By dampening the throttle, you can see increases in fuel economy as well as far greater control of your vehicle’s traction in off-road situations.

3. Ultimate Performance Mode (U): Ultimate performance mode has 9 settings and can be grouped into three stages:

• Ultimate mode 1–3: Everyday driving with smooth acceleration.
• Ultimate mode 4–6: Sportier, more responsive acceleration, great for use around town where short bursts of acceleration are needed.
• Ultimate mode 7–9: Strap yourself in and activate launch control — instant throttle response, beast mode. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

4. Automatic Control (AC) Mode: Automatic control is essentially a set-and-forget mode. Fly-by-wire throttle systems have two potentiometers — one to measure how hard you press the pedal and the other to measure how far you’ve pushed the pedal. In automatic mode, the EVC determines these measures for you and adjusts the throttle response to suit.

Note: It can take a few days to get used to the EVC’s different modes and what works best for the driver. We recommend starting on or around Ultimate mode 4 (U4). This gives the driver plenty of throttle response to notice a substantial difference without being too much to handle straight out of the box. Once the driver is comfortable with the different Ultimate mode settings, we then recommend experimenting with Automatic and Economy modes.
