Kanto H2 Premium Universal Desktop Headphone Stand at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The H2 is a premium universal desktop headphone stand from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Built around a heavy-duty steel frame with a weighted 4.3 x 7-inch base, the H2 stands 11.5 inches tall and supports headphones weighing up to 22 lbs (10 kg), making it one of the most capable desktop headphone stands in its class. Its contoured silicone cradle accommodates headbands up to 3.5 inches wide, protecting softer headband materials from impressions and uneven wear. Silicone padding on the base keeps the stand firmly anchored to the desk surface. Available in matte black and white, the H2 pairs visually with Kanto's SP Series speaker stands for a unified desktop aesthetic.

Heavy-Duty Steel Frame for Larger Headphones

The Kanto H2 is designed specifically to handle the physical demands of larger, heavier over-ear headphones that standard lightweight stands struggle to hold securely. Planar magnetic headphones from brands such as Audeze, HiFiMAN, and Meze, as well as large-format dynamic headphones from Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic, often combine wide headbands with chassis weights that challenge the stability of smaller stands with narrow bases. The H2 addresses this with an industrial-grade steel frame paired with a weighted rectangular base measuring 4.3 by 7 inches, providing a wide, low center of gravity that resists tipping under even the heaviest consumer headphone loads. The 11.5-inch stand height creates adequate clearance between the desk surface and the headphone ear cups, preventing contact that could compress or deform pad materials during storage.

Contoured Silicone Cradle for Wide Headband Compatibility

Many premium audiophile headphones feature headbands significantly wider than the 2-inch standard accommodated by entry-level stands. The Audeze LCD series, Meze Empyrean, and HiFiMAN Susvara all use broad, padded headband assemblies that require a larger cradle contact surface to distribute weight evenly and avoid pressure concentration. The H2's silicone cradle is contoured to accept headbands up to 3.5 inches wide, covering the full range of current consumer and professional headphone designs. The silicone material is selected for its ability to grip without adhesion, cushion without permanent deformation, and maintain its shape over years of daily use. Softer headband coverings including leatherette, lambskin, alcantara, and memory foam can be stored on the H2 indefinitely without risk of impression marks or surface cracking caused by prolonged contact with a hard cradle edge.

Key Features

  • Weighted Steel Base: A 4.3 x 7-inch rectangular weighted base provides exceptional tip resistance for large and heavy over-ear headphones, keeping the stand stable on any flat desk surface without adhesive mounting.
  • 22 lb Weight Capacity: The H2 supports headphones weighing up to 22 lbs (10 kg), far exceeding the weight of even the heaviest consumer planar magnetic and large-format dynamic headphones on the market.
  • 3.5-Inch Wide Silicone Cradle: A contoured silicone headphone rest accommodates headbands up to 3.5 inches wide, distributing weight evenly to prevent impressions, wear, and deformation of premium headband materials.
  • 11.5-Inch Stand Height: Sufficient clearance between the desk and the ear cup contact point ensures that headphone pads and grilles do not compress against the desk surface during storage.
  • Non-Slip Silicone Base Pads: Silicone padding on the underside of the weighted base grips smooth and textured desk surfaces to prevent sliding during daily handling.
  • SP Series Visual Pairing: The H2's industrial aesthetic and matte finish options are designed to complement Kanto's SP Series desktop speaker stands for a unified, consistent workstation look.
  • Two Matte Finish Options: Available in matte black and white to suit dark-themed and light-themed desktop setups respectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kanto H2?

The Kanto H2 is a premium heavy-duty desktop headphone stand from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), built from a weighted steel frame measuring 4.3 by 7.1 inches at the base and standing 11.5 inches tall. It features a contoured silicone cradle that fits headbands up to 3.5 inches wide, supports up to 22 lbs, and is available in matte black and matte white finishes. The H2 is designed for larger on-ear and over-ear headphones including planar magnetic and large-format dynamic models.

How does the Kanto H2 compare to the Kanto H1 or Sieveking Omega headphone stands?

The Kanto H2 is a significant step up from the Kanto H1 in every structural dimension: the H2 offers a wider 3.5-inch silicone cradle versus the H1's 2-inch cradle, a 22 lb weight capacity versus 6.6 lbs, a weighted rectangular base versus the H1's circular base, and 1.5 additional inches of stand height. Compared to premium boutique options like the Sieveking Omega or the Fostex HP-A8 stand, the H2 provides a comparable level of headband protection and stability at a more accessible price point while adding the non-slip silicone base that many higher-end stands omit. For listeners with large planar magnetic or studio headphones who want a reliable daily-use stand, the H2 is a practical and well-built choice.

Can the Kanto H2 hold large planar magnetic headphones like the Audeze LCD-2 or HiFiMAN Arya?

Yes, the Kanto H2 is fully capable of holding large planar magnetic headphones including the Audeze LCD-2, HiFiMAN Arya, Meze Empyrean, and similar models. The 22 lb weight capacity far exceeds the physical weight of these headphones, and the 3.5-inch wide silicone cradle accommodates the broad headband assemblies found on planar magnetic designs. The weighted steel base provides the tip resistance needed to hold heavier headphones securely without the stand rocking or shifting during placement and removal.

Will the H2's silicone cradle damage or leave marks on premium headband materials?

No, the H2's contoured silicone cradle is specifically designed to prevent impressions and uneven wear on softer headband materials. The silicone distributes the headphone's weight across a curved surface rather than concentrating it at a single edge or contact point, eliminating the pressure that causes permanent deformation in leatherette, lambskin, alcantara, and memory foam headband coverings. Headphones stored on the H2 for extended periods, including flagship models from Focal, Dan Clark Audio, and Audeze, can be removed without visible marks or compression damage to the headband material.

What does it mean to pair the H2 with Kanto SP Series speaker stands?

Kanto designed the H2's industrial aesthetic and matte finish options to visually complement their SP Series desktop speaker stands, which share the same steel construction language and matching matte black and white colorways. Pairing the H2 with SP Series stands creates a cohesive, unified desktop audio setup where the headphone stand and speaker stands share a consistent visual identity. This is a practical consideration for listeners who want their desktop audio accessories to form a deliberate, matched system rather than a collection of mismatched components.

Where can I buy the Kanto H2 in Toronto or Canada?

The Kanto H2 premium desktop headphone stand is available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound is an authorized Kanto dealer carrying the H2 in both matte black and matte white finishes alongside the full Kanto accessory range including speaker stands, powered speakers, and turntables. The H2 can be ordered online through the Vinyl Sound Canada website with shipping available across Canada.

Is the Kanto H2 suitable for a professional studio or dedicated listening room?

Yes, the Kanto H2 is well suited to professional studio environments and dedicated headphone listening rooms where heavy, high-value headphones require secure and protective daily storage. The 22 lb capacity and weighted base handle studio-grade headphones from Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, and Sony without stability concerns, while the silicone cradle protects premium headband materials that are expensive to repair or replace. The H2's clean industrial aesthetic also integrates naturally into professional studio furniture and rack-adjacent desktop setups.

Not 6 ft
Color: Grey, Size: 34" - 3 Panel
I bought this for filming my auditions. I am 5’4” .The height lists is 6 ft but the fabric only reaches 5’9 1/2 “! when I must film myself head to toe, the top bars are showing. It’s easy to set up. But when I film I must tilt my camera to keep the top bars out of frame which is not acceptable.

Perfect for what I needed - getting a 2nd one.
Color: Black, Size: 22" - 4 Panel
Putting it together was a BEE-OTCH!! Yes, one of the tubes had the top cap installed at the wrong end (& getting it off required tools), and yes, stretching the fabric to get the screws in was incredibly hard...but am I buying another one? YES! After all is said and done, this is a great room divider. I opted out of installing the paddle feet & it still works perfect. It won't filter light all that great and even though it stands on its own, it can be blown over easily - but for the price? Excellent. If I wanted a heavy duty, thicker, more expensive one, I would've bought one. The 2nd one is on the way. Perfect height, no weird smell, nice and light and easy to move around.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN 😊
Color: Grey, Size: 34" - 3 Panel
I purchased RANTILA 3 Panel Room Divider, 6 Ft Tall Folding Privacy Screen Freestanding Room Partition Wall Dividers, 102''W x 20''D x 71''H, Grey. For outdoor use on my patio is perfect . PRIVACY!!! YAY! It was packaged very carefully. There were no missing parts. Instructions were there but I still had to use the video visually. A few screws would not screw in. So I used a hammer with a few good taps that helped using the screw driver. 😊 It was easy putting it together following the directions. Everything is well made. Love the height, functionality and it’s definitely light it works. Thank you

It’s really pretty decent except for one thing.
Color: Grey, Size: 34" - 4 Panel, Color: Grey, Size: 34" - 4 Panel
I bought two of these for my basement and they do look great. They were easy to assemble and I’m happy with them. The problem is that the stitching on the fabric panels are almost the size of a machine basting stitch (which for non sewers means large temporary stitches). Because the panels are tight by design, the stitches had already started to come undone before I could finish assembling everything. Fortunately I can sew and I reinforced all the panels. I had to take the first ones back off the poles to do them but I did the second set before assembling. It’s really not a bad product for the money. It’s quality fabric and the design itself looks great. The stitching looks fine but it’s just not substantial enough for the purpose it is supposed to serve. I can’t imagine why it be sewn so insufficiently. I was able to resolve my issue because I can sew. I wasn’t planning on sewing nor did I really have the time. I could have made it myself but I didn’t want to and that is why I purchased this. I ended up using valuable time. The really unfortunate thing is, I have no other complaints. This is a manufacturing problem.
