This 15” wide meter combines three traditional McIntosh meters into a single, streamlined enclosure, delivering the same high performance and enticing motion that McIntosh meters are known for. The TripleView meter’s captivating blue glow can be turned off to ensure it doesn’t compete with your TV or movie screen, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the action.

The MC257 has been upgraded to deliver even more power and performance. When using the front left, center, and right channels, power output has been increased by 25%, delivering 250 Watts per channel. When all 7 channels are in use, each receives a robust 200 Watts per channel. Thanks to an increased filter capacity, the MC257 boasts a 94% increase in dynamic headroom, allowing it to handle even the most demanding soundtracks with ease. This increased headroom, along with improved low-frequency performance, ensures that your home theater delivers the impactful, immersive sound you crave.
Advanced Cooling and Quiet Operation
The MC257 operates cool and quiet, thanks to five McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ connected to advanced high-current output transistors. These features eliminate the need for noisy cooling fans, ensuring that nothing interferes with your movie’s soundtrack. A specially wound toroidal isolation power transformer further minimizes noise, while gold-plated binding posts ensure a pristine signal is sent to your speakers.
Flexible Configuration Options
The MC257 is incredibly versatile and can be used in various home theater configurations. It can power a full 7-channel setup on its own, or it can be paired with additional McIntosh amplifiers, such as the MI128 or MI254, to power systems with more than 7 channels. Alternatively, the MC257 can be used in a 5-channel setup, with the remaining 2 channels available to power a second audio zone in your home.
