Model: Dragon Fuzz

Condition: New

Description:

My friend Ilya Lipkin originally suggested this feedback idea to me, which resulted in the first Screaming Lizard. Now he suggests a higher gain version; so here's the Dragon! Also includes my new 5-knob fuzz format and latching OSC switch.

Aimed at that circa 1970 fuzz tone made famous by Hendrix and Gilmour, in which at full guitar volume you get a hot, saturated, sustaining fuzz tone, and with the guitar volume turned down you get more of a gritty overdrive sound. Step on the OSC switch for extra insanity.

The Skreddy Pedals™ Dragon Fuzz is made from oldschool silicon transistors, which are doubled in parallel for noise reduction (giving 4 transistors total instead of 2)

The extra controls let you emulate different classic fuzz tones from the 60's and early 70's along with improvements for some of the issues those early fuzzes had (noise reduction, adjustable tone, and adjustable input impedance).

This can be a hot, grindy, saturated fuzz or an articulate fuzz, depending on how you set it up.  The bias control is set up to give you just the right classic response at noon, and you can play with it to go harder or softer.

No special power requirements, just regular negative ground 9v.

Classic Fuzz Tones

  • Responsive and raw just like the earliest units
  • Adjustable input resistance lets it work great with humbuckers and get along with other effects too
  • Stable at all temperatures but very sensitive to guitar volume knob changes
  • Just leave the fuzz knob cranked or backed down a touch
  • True bypass, LED, standard 9v power jack
  • OSC switch lets you knock the effect up a notch or go into crazy feedback, depending on where you set its control

Made in the tall box format like the Echo, with top-side jacks

Controls:

VOLUME
Gives you a LOT more output volume than most classic fuzzes, with unity gain around noon and plenty of boost beyond that.
BIAS
Lets you go from buzzy and low-fi to clear, louder, and more present. Sometimes referred to as a "MIDS" control since it does give you more (or less) of those too. Noon is the classic setting.
VOICE
Lets you go from bright and articulate to smooth and syrupy with that lovely upper-harmonic emphasis you hear in classic fuzz recordings. It's really nothing more than an extra guitar tone control. This fuzz sounds so sweet with the tone rolled down that you will love having this dedicated control right where it's at, freeing up the guitar knobs for all your other applications.
FUZZ
Sets the gain for this whole thing. Most fuzzes of this type sound best with the fuzz turned either all the way up or dialed back just a touch from max (in my opinion).  Gets milder and darker as you turn down.
HOT
Adds either a little or a lot of resistance to the input in order to keep a humbucker pickup from swamping the circuit and causing it to have a gated attack. But it's also useful for helping this fuzz work together with other effects (like to keep a wah pedal from making that siren sound you get from driving it into a vintage-style fuzz, or that extreme, trebly fuzz you get if you use a buffered pedal in front, for example).
OSC
Sets the amount of feedback you get when you use the corresponding footswitch, which is latching to let you do other things with your feet while enjoying this effect

Good - for a few hours

Concept is fantastic. Dog loved it. Problem is that she figured out how to open it within two hours of play. The robot core, alas, did not survive. In the photo, you see a tooth went cleanly into the button and that was the end of the toy.

The most engaging interactive toy for my Border Collie
      Color: Orange, Color: Orange
My Border Collie is not a big ball player. He prefers tug type games and actually gives me a look like, “Are you stupid? I’m not going to keep bringing that to you if all you’re going to do is throw it away again!” after about the third time I throw a ball for him to fetch. However, I can only play tug so often and I need him to be entertained and engaged as much as possible. I got him a smaller, non-padded ball like this hoping he would like the interactive aspect of it. He did- he actually loved it! But it was loud, hard on his teeth, would come apart periodically, and he kept hitting the off button when playing with it. It drove me crazy. This one is so much better overall! The soft outer shell is not only easier on his teeth, but it is super resilient to biting and chewing. He actually likes to carry this thing around in his mouth while it’s bouncing and vibrating. The three modes give great flexibility for different kinds of play. His favorite is the most active mode: the ball reacts to touch and practically bounces itself across the floor when he touches it with his paw or mouth. I will point out that in one of the modes, I thought the battery wasn’t charged or there was a motor issue because it’s very subdued movement; however, it’s just set up as a low-key option. Be sure to check out each mode to see which works best for your dog at different times. I can’t say enough about this ball- I have been so pleasantly surprised by how much he loves it. The rechargeable feature is super convenient, it’s big enough to not get stuck under the couch, and it automatically shuts off based on whichever mode it’s set on. As the owner of a busy, super-smart dog who needs to be engaged in mental and physical activity, I think this all is worth every penny. In fact, I’m buying one for a friend who has a Border Collie pup with lots of energy to burn! I highly recommend this toy- it’s the most engaging toy I’ve found that Finn will play with on his own.

Not as Smart or Interactive as You Think it Will Be
      Color: Blue
This is an honest review from a schnauzer owner who has has wanted this cheerble ball for their dog for more than one year. I finally bougI finally bought this toy and both me and my dog are disappointed. The settings are...i would say dog friendly as I'd assumed a dog ball would be. What I mean by that is, for example: the calm play setting is muuch too calm. Super light puffs of energy, like a battery is dying. And the playful setting is scary, alarmingly so. The intervals in between are too long. The ball does not bounce. So they just have settings all wrong. The size is good for a large dog only. Do not buy if you have a small to medium dog. I even think the material is okay. I've only had it for a few days so I can't even speak to how the material holds up. Really hoping to love this ball for my dog. It was not the distraction I was hoping it would be so I could work from home while my dog had fun. I'm hoping this can help someone else who's been pining over it. Essentially, it's a $35-$50 well made weighted ball that moves occasionally.

Excellent Pee Pad Holder for Indoor Dog Training
This pee pad holder is very practical and works great for indoor potty training. The non-slip silicone material stays firmly in place and doesn’t slide around on the floor. The raised edges do an excellent job preventing leaks and protecting my floors. The magnetic clips hold the pad securely, even when my dog moves around a lot. Overall, it’s well made, easy to clean, and makes puppy training much less messy.

      Best choice
This pee pad holder has been a lifesaver for indoor puppy training. The 24" x 24" size fits standard pads perfectly, and the non-slip silicone keeps everything in place. The raised, leak-proof edge gives great floor protection, while the four magnetic clips securely hold pads without tearing. It’s easy to clean, durable, and looks neat at home. A practical, well-designed tray that makes potty training cleaner, easier, and far less stressful. Highly recommended for apartment owners and busy pet parents.
