Whether capturing images in the studio or on location, the Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Canon and Panasonic Kit from B&H Photo adds flexibility and versatility to your shooting style. This kit includes the Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Canon W/3-Pin Connection and a Vello FreeWave Camera Release Cable for Panasonic Cameras. The cable makes it compatible with Leica V-Lux 4 and Panasonic DMC-FZ100, DMC-FZ150, DMC-FZ200, DMC-G1, DMC-G10, DMC-G2, DMC-G3, DMC-G5, DMC-G6, DMC-GF1, DMC-GH1, DMC-GH2, DMC-GH3, DMC-GH4, DMC-GX1, DMC-GX7, DMC-L1, DMC-L10 cameras.

Photography unplugged - shooters can interact with a model, view the scene or set from alternate angles, or set a camera by a stream to capture an image of a bear hunting while you remain at a safe distance away - all this and more without missing a beat, a shot, or a moment. This particular FreeWave unit is compatible with Canon cameras with a 3-pin connection, and Panasonic cameras.

This versatile shutter release features Smart Code technology which allows it to be configured to operate on up to 16 million possible radio channels. You can easily switch channels to "zero in" on a frequency that provides optimal range and functionality.

The FreeWave operates with radio frequency (RF) technology, therefore a direct line of sight is not necessary; radio waves pass through objects such as windows and walls. It is unlike other wireless remotes on the market that operate on an Infrared (IR) system and require a direct line of sight between transmitter and receiver to make things work.

Since touching the camera even lightly while capturing an image can create a blurred image, the FreeWave eliminates this by tripping the shutter without any disturbances. This is critical when photographing subjects close up, and for long-exposures and macros. It is also extremely valuable when photographing nature, wildlife and other subjects that are difficult for you to get close to.

    Compatibility
    Canon EOS: 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 5D, 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 6D, 7D, 7D Mark II, 1D, 1D Mark II, 1D Mark II N, 1D Mark III, 1D Mark IV, 1Ds, 1Ds Mark II, 1Ds Mark III, 1D X and 1D C
    Smart Code
The FreeWave's Smart Code feature allows you to operate on 16,000,000 possible radio channels. No DIP switches need to be set, and one transmitter can trigger multiple receivers. The units have been synchronized at the factory, so your system can work right out of the box. However, to maximize signal quality and range, it is best to use the Smart Code technology to sense the "quiet" frequencies in your environment and re-synchronize on that channel.
    Extended Range
The FreeWave can fire the camera's shutter from distances up to 320 feet (100 meters).
    Multi-function
Trigger your camera wirelessly or wired. Wired triggering even works if the receiver battery is dead or missing.
    Dual-Function Release
Press the transmitter's button half way to focus; press it fully to trigger the shutter.
    Delayed Release
The two-second delay function gives you extra time to get into position.
    Multi-exposure
You can take multiple shots with one press of the trigger.
    Long Exposures
With the FreeWave you can control the length of the exposure remotely.
    LED Indicators
Two LED indicators confirm pre-focus and exposure when in the wireless mode.
    Versatile
The FreeWave includes a camera release cable that works with your particular camera model. By simply changing to another cable (additional purchase required) a single receiver can work with many other cameras as well.

Stuff They Don't Teach You In Church
Format: Paperback
Fawn Brodie did her research and cites primarily sources from LDS sources such as journals from people who knew Joseph Smith and from Joseph Smith himself. I trust that the information is reliable. I learned more about Joseph Smith than I was ever taught in Sunday School or LDS seminary. Fawn Brodie does speculate in some areas, such as Joseph's motives but she supports her assumptions with evidence, again, from primary sources. It was a quick read for me. I did have to get out a dictionary at some places, which is rare for me. Brodie paints a picture of the Joseph Smith that very few people knew. I enjoyed reading this book. I recommend it for LDS church members who want to know the history of one of enigmatic people in history, the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The book points out not just the negative aspects of Joseph's life but Brodie balances it with the positive. Unlike Charles Manson, Jim Jones, or David Koresh, Joseph Smith truly cared about his followers and treated people well. I don't like how he seduced women, however and that detracts from his character. I do think he was a con man, however.

A very accessible classic
Format: Paperback
I chose this translation on the recommendation of a good friend who is also a professor of English. I wanted something that was true to the spirit of the work and not necessarily tied to the exact meter and rhyme of the original just for the sake of maintaining both. I was not disappointed. What struck me most was the imagery of the translation. As I read, I could see the scenes and felt that I was there, experiencing the plot. This tale has many of the elements of the current popular "superhero" genre of movies. Properly done, it would make an excellent film. Read it and enjoy!

Luminous Translation
This translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is rich in color, full of action, written with respect for the original poetry (in a Northern dialect of Middle English that partakes heavily of Old English and Old Norse influences). The richness of the story, the surroundings (both natural and courtly), and the vivid descriptions of hunting and fighting, make this very important knightly adventure jump off the page.

Laudable Work, with One Reservation
Format: Paperback
I appreciate Mr. Winny's time and efforts to produce a "bilingual" edition of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. No stranger to the pitfalls of poetic translation, I prefer to have the original side-by-side with the modern English language rendering, as you get with this book. That way, I can quiet the academic growl in my head that remains skeptical of the inevitable poetic license the translator--by necessity--must take to adapt ancient words into modern parlance. My only complaint is that since the poem in its original is half the appeal of what this book promises, why modernize the letters? The Gawain poet's Middle English is already much more obscure to the modern reader than Chaucer's. Why not retain the yogh, the thorn, etc.? The target audience is already willing to climb the mountain, so why lop off the peak?

One of my favs
Format: Paperback
Gawain and the Green Knight is one of my favorite Arthurian Legends. This version has Middle English and Modern English translations side-by-side, which is loads of fun to follow. Let's just say this copy is well read.
