Besonderheiten: Diese limitierte Sonderabfüllung aus der renommierten Diageo Special Releases Serie 2025 präsentiert einen 12 Jahre alten Lagavulin, der in einer Kombination aus Refill-Fässern sowie mit Pedro Ximénez und Oloroso gefüllten europäischen Eichenfässern gereift ist. Diese spezielle Fasskombination verleiht dem Whisky eine einzigartige Tiefe und Komplexität.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: Kräftige, klare Aromen mit moderater Intensität. Sofort phenolisch, mit schwelendem Torf und Holzasche, dann eine weich-parfümierte Süße, untermalt von mineralisch-maritimen Noten, die an Hummerkörbe, frische Jakobsmuscheln und trockene Austernschalen erinnern. Mit der Zeit wird das Bouquet trockener.
  • Gaumen: Geschmeidig und leicht ölig in der Textur, mit kräftigen Aromen. Gleichzeitig süß mit Noten von Trockenfrüchten, würzig-pikant und salzig. Dann entwickeln sich kräftige rauchige Torfnoten. Mit einem Tropfen Wasser wird er geschmeidiger und süßer, bleibt aber voller Leben.
  • Abgang: Sehr lang, trocken und leicht rauchig, mit anhaltender Salzigkeit und mehr Torf im Nachgeschmack. Ein wenig Wasser fügt eine gewisse Chili-Würze hinzu.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Die Lagavulin Distillery, gegründet im Jahr 1816, liegt an der Südküste der schottischen Insel Islay. Sie ist bekannt für ihre charakteristischen, stark getorften Single Malts, die weltweit geschätzt werden. Als Teil der Diageo Special Releases 2025 präsentiert diese Abfüllung die meisterhafte Handwerkskunst der Brennerei.

Love this! Works perfectly for where I wanted it. I did measure my room incorrectly and thought it would be smaller, thankfully it’s not and thankfully it’s not bigger than the room itself. I did like how the whole thing was move-able but it was a bit annoying so I just added extra clips to the left of the middle one and unscrewed the right of the middle at the bottom so it opens like a door, this did make it a bit flimsy but duck taping it to the wall as anchor it works. 100% recommend, but do suggest a drill and a second set of hands to put it together, due to its size it can be a bit difficult to maneuver putting together yourself. Also if you have a clingy cat like I do, and think this will help keep them out, no, my cat who is very large can manage to squeeze underneath it.
