Die von Isamu Noguchi entworfenen Akari Light Sculptures zählen zu den poetischsten Ausdrucksformen des modernen Designs des 20. Jahrhunderts. Seit 1951 gestaltet und bis heute in Gifu, Japan, in sorgfältiger Handarbeit gefertigt, verbinden diese Leuchten auf harmonische Weise traditionelles japanisches Handwerk mit modernistischer Formensprache.

Das Modell Akari J1 entfaltet sich als schlanke, skulpturale Form, die mit großer Leichtigkeit im Raum schwebt. Eine feine Metallstruktur trägt filigrane Bambusstreben, die mit handgefertigtem Washi-Papier bespannt sind. Dieses natürliche Material streut das Licht weich, gleichmäßig und stimmungsvoll und schafft eine ruhige, elegante Atmosphäre.
