aquinii = Francisco AQUINO, brasilianischer Orchideensammler, endeckte Ende des 20 Jhdts. diese Art auf einem Baum unter vielen typischen Cattleya intermedia. Jose Barbosa Rodrigues beschrieb sie 1891 als Cattleya aquinii.
