Magnesiummangel
Magnesium ist einer der Mineralstoffe, die über den Schweiß des Pferdes ausgeschieden werden. Nicht alle Futtermittel enthalten genügend Magnesium, um die Verluste auszugleichen.
Magnesiummangel kann sich durch Nervosität und Muskelzittern äußern. Ein magnesiumarmes Futter kann zu erhöhtem Blutdruck und verminderter Elastizität der Blutgefäße führen. Das bedeutet, dass Magnesiummangel schädlich für das Gefäßsystem sein und das Risiko von Rupturen erhöhen kann.
Wann ist Magnesium empfohlen?
Alle Pferde benötigen Magnesium. Bei nachgewiesenem Mangel im Futter sowie bei Pferden, die trainieren und an Wettkämpfen teilnehmen, sollte zusätzliches Magnesium verabreicht werden.
