La mante Sphodromantis sp est une magnifique mante originaire du Tchad. C'est une espèce conseillée aux éleveurs débutants.

Vivarium Sphodromantis sp (Tchad) :

 

Un vivarium 20 x 20 x 20 cm est d’une taille parfaite pour leur maintien.

Terre de coco, tourbe sont les plus adaptées, à maintenir humides.

Il est plus conseillé de séparer les individus et de les placer dans des terrariums ou gobelets séparés.
L’élevage groupé chez les adultes n’est pas recommandé.

 

 

Température Sphodromantis sp (Tchad) :

de Jour : comprises entre 25-32 °C.

de Nuit : comprises entre 18-25 °C

Hygrométrie comprise entre 60 et 70 %.

Vaporisez 2 à 6 fois par semaine en moyenne, de préférence le soir.

 

Alimentation Sphodromantis sp (Tchad) :

Il est nécessaire d’apporter un nombre constant de proies aux mantes, vivantes, pour qu’elles puissent se nourrir. Un élevage de proies en parallèle est vivement recommandé pour s’assurer de cet apport en continu (environ une proie tous les jours ou tous les deux jours). Vous pourrez alors avoir la joie de voir comment ces proies sont attrapées par la mante : c’est fascinant. 

C’est une espèce vorace facile à nourrir, elle accepte tous les proies : mouches, grillons, blattes…

 

Reproduction Sphodromantis sp (Tchad) :

La maturité sexuelle arrive environ sous 14 jours pour le mâle et environ 28 jours pour la femelle, après la mue imaginale.

La première oothèque arrive environ 3 à 10 jours après l'accouplement. Elle peut en pondre jusqu’à 6 dans un intervalle régulier de 15 jours.

L’incubation se fait avec une humidité à environ 60 % humidité et avec une température comprise entre 25-30 °C pendant 6 semaines.
