Ṣaḥīḥ al-Buḫārī, auch bekannt als al-Ǧāmiʿ aṣ-Ṣaḥīḥ, wird als das authentischste Werk nach dem edlen Qur'an angesehen. Der große Imam al-Buḫārī - möge Allah ihm barmherzig sein - sammelte darin die Worte und Taten des Propheten ﷺ, wobei er die höchsten Maßstäbe der Überprüfbarkeit und Genauigkeit einhielt. Da jedoch die Überlieferungsketten oftmals lang und viele Hadithe wiederholt aufgeführt sind, nahm sich der gelehrte Imam az-Zabidī der Aufgabe an, dieses große Werk zu erleichtern: Er kürzte die Überlieferungsketten auf den jeweiligen überliefernden Gefährten (Saḥābī) und entfernte wiederholte Überlieferungen. Er nannte dieses Werk „at-Taǧrīd aṣ-Ṣarīḥ li-Aḥādīṯ al-Ǧāmiʿ aṣ-Ṣaḥīḥ.“ Möge Allah ihn für seinen Dienst an der Sunna des Gesandten ﷺ reichlich belohnen.
