Der M-51 Parka von Buzz Rickson's ist eine aktualisierte Version des M-48 Parkas, der im Zweiten Weltkrieg entwickelt wurde. Um die U.S. Forces vor Kälte zu schützen, wurde ein Lagen-System entwickelt, so dass der Parka über normaler Kleidung getragen werden konnte. Während das ursprüngliche Modell aus dickem Baumwollsatin bestand, wurde ab 1952 Oxford-Baumwollnylon verwendet, das den Parka auch wesentlich leichter machte.

Die Idee, eine Kollektion ganz in Schwarz zu entwerfen, geht auf eine fiktive schwarze MA-1-Jacke von Buzz Rickson's zurück, die der Science-Fiction-Autor in seinem Buch "Pattern Recognition" für seinen Protagonisten entworfen hatte. Buzz Rickson's erweckte die nie zuvor gesehene Jacke zum Leben und legte damit den Grundstein für die einzigartige Militaria-Kooperation "Type Black“.

This is the second Michael Kors bag in my collection, and I’m pleased with both of them. These are quality items that are timeless and complement pretty much everything that i own. The bag lives up to Michael Kors quality and is worth every penny. I need a matching wallet or wristlet NOW.
