Flera unga kvinnor försvinner spårlöst på olika platser i landet. Journalisten Thea Bergfalk sitter fast med att skriva om inredning och kändisar, men hoppas att snart bli kriminalreporter. När hon inte får tjänsten går hon i taket och förlorar både jobb och lägenhet.

På egen hand börjar hon nysta i fallen med de försvunna kvinnorna, som tar en ny vändning när en av kvinnornas pappa hittas hängd i sin dotters rum. Strax därpå cirkulerar rovfåglar runt en säck på en åker som visar sig innehålla en av kvinnorna.

Samtidigt dör Theas mormor som hon vuxit upp med, och i huset hittas brev som någon skickat till Theas födelsedag under 15 år. Brev hon aldrig fått se. Thea kontaktas av en man som kallar sig J, och han visar sig ha värdefull information.

Kriminalkommissarie Mikael Hermansson, som utreder fallet, famlar i utredningen. Snart inser både han och Thea att tiden håller på att rinna ut. För sent inser polisen att gärningsmannens motiv är helt andra än de trott, och Thea blir indragen på ett sätt ingen hade kunnat föreställa sig.

This is an interesting read to help with your child’s self esteem and behavior. The first several chapters on the psychology behind behavior were more helpful and interesting than the second half of the book that addresses specific behaviors. Also, if you follow Dr Becky on social media, most of her advice is already in her content. However, I’m glad I read this book, even it wasn’t life changing.

This book has been so, so wonderfully helpful, my husband jokes it’s now my bible. Kiddo went from like 10-20 meltdowns a day to only a couple, and those are resolved in like a tenth of the time. It’s also honestly been healing for me as a child of loving parents who nonetheless didn’t learn all this stuff and did a lot of invalidating and shaming.
