About Freshwater Pearls
Freshwater pearls are cultivated in the mussel Hyriopsis cumingii and are more affordable than saltwater pearls. They are commonly used in jewelry and typically range from 2–9 mm in size.
They naturally occur in white, cream and soft pink tones. The round pearl is the rarest and therefore the most valuable.
