Kongenitaler idiopathischer Megaösophagus (CIM) ist eine Motilitätsstörung der Speiseröhre, die den normalen Transport von Nahrung in den Magen aufgrund reduzierter peristaltischer Aktivität und Dilatation verhindert. Betroffene Hunde zeigen Regurgitation von Nahrung und Wasser, Husten und Komplikationen wie Aspirationspneumonie, übermäßigen Speichelfluss, leichte bis mäßige Kachexie und pulmonale Rasselgeräusche oder Giemen. Eine normale Speiseröhre kontrahiert, um den Durchgang von Nahrung in den Magen zu ermöglichen. Bei betroffenen Tieren kontrahiert sie nicht normal, was zu Nahrungsretention und Dehnung führt. Die Häufigkeit der Regurgitation kann von nur einer Episode alle paar Tage bis zu vielen Episoden pro Tag variieren. Die ersten klinischen Anzeichen bei betroffenen Welpen treten im Alter von 4 Wochen auf.

Mutation: MCHR2-Gen

Gentest: Die Methode, die für den Gentest verwendet wird, ist äußerst genau und ermöglicht eine vollständige Differenzierung zwischen betroffenen Tieren, Trägern und gesunden Hunden. DNA-Tests können in jedem Alter durchgeführt werden.

Just linear

I appreciate that it helps to organize the chaos of information, but I just used the template verbatim with my manager and it did not go very well. He said this linear approach does not work anymore with high-level corporate audiences. They want to cut right to the chase and start to dig into the deep details. This layout with simple images, even if you just pull away the map and anchor slides, makes the storytelling too much like a story, not giving enough credit to the speed at which certain audiences can and do process data on a slide. It was an interesting exercise and I still think this linear layout works in some cases. Just not if you are trying to communicate business case or other C-suite type of information.
